Enfield may be home to fewer than 3,000 residents, but its prime location between Strathfield and Burwood has cemented its status as one of the Inner West’s hidden gems.

The suburb offers a village-style lifestyle with an abundance of cafés, restaurants, and boutique shops, staples of Inner West living.

The off the plan buyer of a sub-penthouse in Sydney’s Loftus Lane development has scored a big resale as the project nears completion.

The sub-penthouse A603 in the luxury project near Sydney Harbour sold for $5.4 million, having been snapped up at the sales launch back in mid-2017 for $4.975 million direct from the developer AMP Capital.

A $13 million luxury development at Circular Quay has been planned, with Queensland-based company rawGROUP Hospitality aiming to break into the Sydney market.
rawGROUP Hospitality Director Adrian Rosato said the company had signed a lease for a 662 square metre site in the luxury residential and retail development, Opera Residences at Bennelong Point.
The project will replicate the business’s Madame Wu riverfront restaurant in Brisbane.
“With the fit out included, we are planning for the total investment in this project to be around $13 million,” he said. 
“Madame Wu Sydney will stretch across two levels, offering diners extraordinary views of one of the world’s most iconic settings, and will be located inside the luxury development that has been reported as having Australia’s most expensive apartments.” 
rawGROUP Hospitality also owns Chu the Phat Asian street food diner in South Brisbane, a chain of casual Beach Bar and Grill restaurants across south east Queensland, and an Italian eatery at Chermside in Brisbane’s northern suburbs.
The company opened Madame Wu Brisbane, on Eagle Street, in 2014.
Sydney-based designer Paul Papadopolous of DS17, who designed the Brisbane complex, will also be applying his flare to the Sydney site.
He described the project as ‘glamorous, contemporary and eclectic’.

Testing of light rail vehicles along George Street is now in full swing, with the first tram travelling the length of the street from Central Station to Circular Quay in daylight hours.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Minister for Transport Andrew Constance boarded the first tram to make the journey during the day and travelled from the Martin Place stop to the end of the line at Circular Quay.
“This is an exciting day for Sydney with light rail vehicles making their way down the revitalised George Street,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“This is just the start of daytime testing along the length of the line and we can expect to see a lot more of it ahead of customer services starting before the end of the year.
“The new network will move up to 13,500 commuters an hour during peak time, replacing the conga line of buses which used to sit in traffic on George Street.”
Andrew Constance again reminded the community to be aware of the changed environment in the area as tram testing becomes more frequent. 
“Now trams are in the busy CBD day and night everyone needs to be aware, remove your headphones, get off your phone and remember to look both ways before crossing the road”, Mr Constance said.
“We’re now on the home stretch of this project and in December, Sydney residents and its visitors will benefit from a better connected city and a transformed boulevard.”
New trams hold up to up to 450 passengers, equivalent of up to nine standard buses.
The new light rail network will have the initial capacity to move up to 13,500 commuters per hour during peak times (7am – 7pm).

Yuhu says Australian projects will be ‘built to last’

There's been a fire at One Circular Quay, the Dalian Wanda development near the Sydney Harbour.
The fire, described as "really bad" by onlookers, broke out earlier this morning.
"There were workers on the scaffold," one woman wrote on Facebook. She suggested she heard three explosions.
More than 60 fire fighters across 16 fire crews are attempting to subdue the fire.
The site, as well as some nearby office buildings, have been evacuated, as well as the Circular Quay train station. Regular service has been resumed at the station.
Nobody was badly injured. A number of people were treated for minor smoke inhalation.
The site of Gold Fields House, which dates back to 1966, was one of Sydney's first high rise buildings. 
Late last month it was announced that Dalian Wanda sold the project to Sydney developer Yuhu Group.

Dalian Wanda came under pressure by the Chinese government to crimp its overseas investments.

Late last year Wanda begun marketing the apartments in the development.
They described the Sydney building as Australia's most prestigious residential development (below).
The flagship $1 billion project was officially launched at the Museum of Contemporary Art in April.
The 57 storey tower will comprise 184 apartments and a 179 room hotel.

"The Circular Quay site remains under the management of Wanda, as the transfer process continues," a Yuhu spokesman told Fairfax Media.

Police say the remains of the building, which was undergoing demolition, has sustained significant damage.
"Officers attached to Sydney City Local Area Command will investigate the circumstances surrounding the blaze. It is not known if there are any suspicious circumstances; inquiries are continuing," police reports say.

Fire at luxury Wanda apartment development in Sydney's Circular Quay

The Sydney developer Yuhu Group has been confirmed as the buyer of the two Australian property jewels being developed by the Chinese conglomerate Dalian Wanda.
The company have paid a reported $1.13 billion for the Sydney and Gold Coast residential and hotel mixed-used projects.
Yuhu struck its deal in Hong Kong on January 18.
"Yuhu has faith that these two projects will inject new employment and boost the local economy," Yuhu founder and chairman Huang Xiangmo told Fairfax Media, where two reporters claimed to have broken the news exclusively.
Yuhu was the reported buyer in The Australian two weeks ago.
Yuhu is a local developer which is committed to investing in real estate and other developments in Australia, the group confirmed overnight.

Forty-five per cent of the Gold Coast project Jewel was owned by Chinese-backed group Ridong. It has also sold its interests in the sale to Yuhu.
An independent valuation of the two projects put them at a total value of $1.12 billion, Dalian Wanda said in a release to the Hong Kong Exchange on Monday night.
Dalian Wanda came under pressure by the Chinese government to crimp its overseas investments.

Forty per cent of the Jewel apartments have sold, with the joint venture struggling to achieve similar sales rates achieved by many developers during the housing boom in the past five years, according to the Australian Financial Review 
Yuhu is in no rush to complete the sales of apartments.

Mr Huang says the residential market in Sydney continues to show strong fundamentals.
It also advised its plans to retain the penthouse atop the Circular Quay residential tower, which Dalian Wanda was said to have received an expression-of-interest offer of $100 million.
As a local company Yuhu did not require Foreign Investment Review Board approval.
Yuhu is controlled by Mr Huang - an Australian permanent resident - and his family members, who are Australian citizens.
