Sydney developer <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developers/deicorp">Deicorp</a> has secured planning approval for a $300 million residential development in Lindfield, marking the company’s second project on Sydney’s North Shore and its first on the Upper North Shore.

Located on Beaconsfield Parade and designed by DKO Architecture, the state significant development comprises three buildings of up to 10 storeys and will include 399 residences, including 59 affordable homes and 40 adaptable homes.

An ode to the natural beauty of the Sunshine Coast that surrounds the newly built formation, Birch said he wanted to create a statement with a deeper meaning of unity for the community.

Capturing the textures from the surrounding landscapes such as earth, ocean and atmosphere, the artwork &lsquo;Holding On&rsquo; uses connected line work that speaks to the style of Picasso, reflecting the way he interpreted images to his canvas.

&ldquo;The Sunshine Coast is going through a huge growth period right now and I was really excited to have an opportunity to leave a mark in an area that I have spent so much time in,&rdquo; said Birch.

&ldquo;Holding On is about respecting the elements that make this coast what it is. Our region is going through so much rapid change it was important to me to capitulate our resilience to hold onto the natural beauty of our coast that surrounds new built formation.&rdquo;

The views of the mountains, ocean, bush and a large viewpoint of the setting sun wer&nbsp;inspirations for Birch, who wanted to draw on the colours from those elements for the overall concept of the building.

&ldquo;Picasso aims to showcase the brilliance of design, matched by the stunning natural environment that surrounds it. Using small amounts of bright colours was critical in creating a piece visible to thousands of people daily, both driving and walking by,&rdquo; Birch noted.

A Sydney born creative and with ten years in the industry under his belt, Birch&rsquo;s public art influence stemmed from an era where pop art was heavily ingrained in surf culture.

&ldquo;I like to find the divide between pop art and the natural landscapes surrounding it. I believe it&rsquo;s early days for public art in the Mooloolaba area, but it&#39;s slowly getting there. I&rsquo;m hoping this artwork creates momentum to commission other opportunities that pop up for artists in the area. Simply put, art is good for the soul. It has the ability to bring communities together.&rdquo;

Cube Developments Director Scott Juniper said there is so much potential for artwork in the Sunshine Coast area and said they look forward to pioneering this space on relevant Cube projects.

Residential South-East Queensland developers&nbsp;RM Developments has recently lodged plans for an amalgamated lot in the Sunshine Coast.

The 4227 sqm site at 45 Sippy Downs Drive,&nbsp;Sippy Downs, will see two residential buildings created, with the building fronting Central Drive rising seven-storeys and&nbsp;the adjacent Spring Street building climbing five-storeys.

Separated by a central communal terrace and landscaped area, 89 apartments are set to be delivered across the project, with K Architecture engaged to handle the designs.

The project sets out to provide a high quality, sub-tropical building and landscape design, which incorporates a perimeter block form to maintain and define an active public realm.

One one-bedroom apartment will be located on the lower ground floor, with the rest of the project delivering 56 two-bedroom and 32 three-bedroom apartments.

The Sunshine Coast CBD Maroochydore is set for a rare boutique apartment development.

Dubbed The Paddington, at 21 Wright Street near Maroochydore Road and Duporth Avenue, will have just 10 apartments. There will be nine two-bedders and a one-bed apartment. Each apartment spans two levels.

It&#39;s a unique design by Sprout Architects, the local architecture firm founded by architect Anthony Robinson back in 2007.

&ldquo;A two-level unit as opposed to a single storey unit allows pushing and pulling of facade elements to create more character and greater setbacks between the property boundaries and the building,&rdquo; Robinson noted in the development application submission.

&ldquo;The two-level dwelling typologies are sympathetic to Australia&rsquo;s traditional terrace house character. As opposed to the redundant six pack developments of the 70s 80s 90s that contained single level, repetitive floor plates.&rdquo;

Robinson added that compared to traditional stacked single level developments, the two-level unit type will achieve a less bulky form, due to the void created in the balcony design. &nbsp;

The two-level design will also create a greener project, with residents given the opportunity to grow vertical plants up to 5.4 meters instead of 2.4 in traditional apartments.

&ldquo;This can be achieved via trellis or light weight vertical planting, such as bamboo on balconies,&rdquo; Robinson added.

The apartments follow an open plan design, with the dining area flowing to the kitchen at the centre of the floorplate, before leading to the living space which connects to the main balcony.

The second level of the apartments will home the bedrooms and bathroom, with the master-bedrooms featuring an ensuite, as well as an additional juliet balcony.

An outdoor communal space will be located on level one of the building, with the space featuring outdoor seating, gardens, a bar and barbecue areas.

Open space was a focus in the design of The Paddington, with Sprout plotting additional communal area on level three, with lounges, dining and barbecue facilities.

The built form is made up of concrete filled blocks with the lower levels taking on a lighter palette, before topping out in a dark, charcoal finish. Anodised Aluminium battens in flat bronze wrap the sides of the building, with the outdoor communal space a feature in the fa&ccedil;ade when viewed from the street.

It's a unique design by Sprout Architects, the local architecture firm founded by architect Anthony Robinson back in 2007

First look: Maroochydore set for unique apartment development, The Paddington

The prominent Sunshine Coast developer Cube Developments has launched their own&nbsp;construction arm in an attempt to cruise over the&nbsp;currently problematic&nbsp;Australian&nbsp;construction industry.

Cube Constructions will be led by&nbsp;Michael Crocker,&nbsp;whose long career saw him lead the likes of Hutchinson Builders and NCM Constructions.

Director of Cube Developments Scott Juniper said taking the builds of upcoming projects in-house was a natural evolution for the company due to the team&rsquo;s expert mix of design, build, trades and consultancy.

&ldquo;Following the huge demand for property experienced here on the coast over the last 18 months, we have more than 500 residences in the pipeline across five Cube Developments projects, all of which will be built by Cube Constructions,&rdquo; Crocker said.

The first project to commence under Cube Constructions is Nature by Cube in Cotton Tree with works scheduled to start mid-July, followed by the construction of Oasis in Bokarina Beach and Seasons by Cube in Birtinya.

The announcement comes at a critical time in the Australian building sector, with over 16 large firms having collapsed since 2021, leaving developers with unfinished projects, thousands of Australians without jobs and just as many would-be homeowners empty handed.

Sunshine Coast developer Cube launch construction arm

Architect and developer Joe Adsett has been given the green light by the local council for&nbsp;Lagune, his first apartment project as a developer in the Sunshine Coast.

The developer lodged the plans with the Sunshine Coast Council back in February, giving Urban a first look at the proposed plans for the luxury five full floor apartments on the 638 sqm site.

Sitting on a rare north-facing avenue, atop the cliffs of Moffat Beach at 20 Queen of Colonies Parade, the project&rsquo;s prime location will deliver panoramic views from the beach to Point Cartwright.

Drawing inspiration from the surrounding natural elements of the coastline and local flora, Lagune creates an everlasting connection between the residents, environment and the community.

The luxury apartment will range in size from 270 sqm and will offer four bedrooms, three&nbsp;bathrooms, two living areas,&nbsp;a central courtyard, a kitchen with a butler&#39;s pantry, two&nbsp;car spaces, and direct lift access.

Each hosts well-proportioned spaces, arranged to maximise cross flow ventilation, along with natural light and functionality.

The sweeping arcs of the fa&ccedil;ade embrace the residences, boldly framing the views of the coastline and tastefully linking the building to its natural surroundings.

Two swimming pools will feature within Lagune, along with outdoor showers and a central courtyard.

Adsett is no stranger to the area, or even the street,&nbsp;having been the lead architect of Honu, the&nbsp;beachfront project under construction next door&nbsp;by Holm Developments.

The group also plans to take on&nbsp;Brisbane&#39;s&nbsp;affluent Kangaroo Point, submitting plans for a project dubbed River Arc, which will see 14 full-floor apartments built overlooking the Brisbane River.

Joe Adsett’s Sunshine Coast apartment development, Lagune, given green light 

Karam Boutique Residential has lodged plans with the Sunshine Coast Council for a seven-storey residential apartment building.

Landing on the corner of Canberra Terrace and Arthur Street, the site spans 3,284 sqm, with the proposed built form fanning out from the podium level.

TMarshall are behind the design of the apartments, which comprise 24 three-bedroom apartments, along with two four-bedroom penthouses.

Four apartments will sit across each level, bar the top floor, with living, dining and kitchen space following an open-plan layout.

The four-bedroom penthouses mirror one another with the floorplan, each including three-bathrooms and two car spaces.

Centrally located in Caloundra, the southern gateway to the Sunshine Coast and only an hour north of Brisbane, residents&rsquo; will be perfectly positioned in one of Queensland&rsquo;s premier lifestyle destinations.

Habitat Development Group has turned the first sod on their $129 million mixed-use project, The Corso, the group&rsquo;s second within the new Maroochydore CBD.

Habitat Development Group Director, Cleighton Clark said The Corso was expected to follow on from the success of the group&rsquo;s first Maroochydore CBD project, Market Lane Residences, which will soon see the first residents moving into their new apartments.

Habitat Development Group commences construction at second Maroochydore CBD apartment project

Landing on one of the Sunshine Coast&rsquo;s last undeveloped ocean frontages, Cube Development&rsquo;s latest project, Oasis, has been designed in a nod to the surrounding coastal environment.

An extensive collaborative design process by local Queensland architect Cameron Sheedy and the developer resulted in a subtropical, resort-style apartment development, with a dual design between the entry-level space and the sculptural towers.

Set across six levels with 56 apartments, Oasis&rsquo; configuration maximises access to almost 180 degree ocean views stretching north from Point Cartwright all the way down to the Caloundra Headland.

Raw materials create a strong connection to place, with white hues, smooth-face blockwork, sand and textured concrete combining with tubular screening, breeze blocks and subtle curvature to achieve the set out, timeless coastal aesthetic.

Functioning as a distinct portal into the residence, a L-shaped enclosure integrates to become the building&rsquo;s grounded podium, decked out with a Wellness Area, with a gym, pool, sun loungers, gardens and alfresco dining space.

Rising from this are the defined yet sculptural residential towers, topped with six expansive penthouses.

Having worked extensively with the developer and council to achieve a district ground floor vision, architect Cameron Sheedy said that the space deeply roots the project to its environment while channelling a visceral change in setting as guests step through Oasis&rsquo; threshold.

&ldquo;The podium is solid, constrained, and timeless. It works to create a quiet compound that is separate from the vibrant, bustling community beyond Oasis&rsquo; walls, something residents want to tap into but can disconnect from in their private sanctuary,&rdquo; Sheedy said.

&ldquo;Large overhangs, glass awnings, natural ventilation, extensive dappled natural light screening and the creation of a considered microclimate work in unison to mitigate and enhance the often-extreme climatic conditions of the coastline and alter temperature, light and sound within the podium to signal the shift in place.&rdquo;

&ldquo;All of this contributes to an inherent feeling of an exclusive and palpably serene space, different to anywhere else and unwavering upon each return.&rdquo;

As for Oasis&rsquo; internal look and feel, Cube Development&rsquo;s Interior Designer, Sarah Busch said that the apartments are sympathetic to the external facade, with complementary materials that seamlessly transition between the two.

&ldquo;We&rsquo;ve tried to blur the lines between inside and out through shared materiality, heightening the impact of the large voids, soaring ceilings and multilevel balconies that Cameron has programmed into the apartment designs.&rdquo;

&ldquo;Tying into the coastal hues of the external facade, we have used soft light tones and the bright whites internally, giving way for the stunning views that intrinsically connect the residents to their natural surroundings.

&ldquo;There is a refined artfulness that guides the apartments with strong monolithic elements, such as the kitchen benches. We have selected large format materials so that there are minimal joins or linework and a select few finishes that are purposeful. Everything is smooth and elongated to create a bold yet timeless feel as you walk into the space.&rdquo;

Storage and joinery have also been designed to appear more like art or stylised furniture pieces, with apartments featuring timber flooring, large format porcelain benchtops, Terrazzo tiles and nickel hardware.

Residents will also benefit from integrated fridges with Smeg kitchen appliances, and built-in laundry appliances, with remaining apartments priced from $795,000.

Cube's Sunshine Coast apartment development, Oasis: A subtropical, resort-style nod to its coastal environment

Local private Sunshine Coast developers have lodged plans for a site on a key corner site located at the gateway entry point to the Maroochydore Priority Development Area (PDA) which is the emerging CBD of Maroochydore, and more widely the Sunshine Coast.

Designed by renowned architects, Cottee Parker, the mix-use development will comprise a mix of 16 three-bedroom and 88 two-bedroom apartments, along with 2,464 sqm of office space, an outdoor dining area and 831 sqm of food and retail space.

The ground floor space of the development will be home to five food and drink outlet tenancies, addressing and activating all road frontages, with a residential lobby off First Ave, and a commercial&nbsp;lobby on the&nbsp;Aerodrome Rd frontage.&nbsp;The ground floor will also contain back of house areas along with 16 car parks, screened and sleeved by tenancies and lobby areas.

Levels five to 12 will home eight levels of residences, with each level comprising 13 units each. A large 658 sqm communal open space pool and pool terrace area will be located on level five, on top of the podium, with additional amenity on the rooftop level, including a gym, a screened plant room and 252 sqm of outdoor terrace space.

Whist recognising the site&rsquo;s city centre location, the development also reflects the beachside character of the local plan area by extensive integration of landscaping and implementing a light coastal colour scheme. A high level of articulation is proposed through steps in building profile, protruding balconies, architectural screening, an articulated and stepped roof line and variation in building materials and finer grain detailing.

Element Design are behind the landscaping, which will feature along all street frontages as well as being integrated within the building&rsquo;s design including on all podium levels, to the edges of the communal open space area and with green walls on the Aerodrome Road frontage.

Further, the site&rsquo;s location is planned to be serviced by key public transport infrastructure including the Dedicated Public Transport Corridor (CAMCOS), CoastConnect Priority Public Transport and Bicycle Corridor and potential future Sunshine Coast Light Rail Corridor, along with First Avenue indicatively identified as part of the future light rail alignment.
