A Moroccan-bathhouse residential tower has been unveiled for Budds Beach, with Australian developer <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developers/homecorp">Homecorp</a> announcing plans for a $260 million resort-style project in one of the Gold Coast’s most tightly held waterfront precincts.

A development application has been submitted to the Gold Coast City Council for a 27-storey tower at 8-10 Acacia Avenue and 25-27 Oak Avenue, Surfers Paradise, marking one of the few new large-scale residential projects proposed for the precinct in more than a decade.

The project will comprise 156 two- and three-bedroom residences, anchored by a residents-only Moroccan spa-inspired wellness sanctuary featuring private treatment rooms, a traditional Nordic sauna and steam room, hot and cold plunge pools and a curated juice bar. There will also be a resort-style rooftop precinct, complete with a heated infinity pool and spa, a residents’ lounge with a private kitchen and bar, a contemporary fitness centre with a yoga and Pilates studio, and outdoor BBQ areas with entertaining lounges.

They are currently living in their Annerley unit, which they have owned for several years, after recently moving out of their inner-city apartment, located on the very same street as Murcia.

“We had watched the development for a long time, and when construction activity began, that’s when we felt confident to buy,” Lois said.

The timing also made sense. By moving back into their Annerley unit, they are able to save money ahead of settlement, while looking forward to returning closer to the city once Murcia is complete.

“We see Murcia as a forever home, as opposed to an investment, or something we need to appreciate massively in value and move on from in a few years,” Lois said.

“We secured an apartment large enough to grow a family, so we’re expecting to call Murcia home for a very long time.”

The couple plan to grow their family, but without the added maintenance demands of owning a standalone house further from the city. Working with Sarazin and architect HAL, they were able to slightly tweak the floorplan, converting the two-bedroom plus MPR layout into a functional three-bedroom apartment.

An added bonus was the recently revised communal space plans, which now incorporate a dedicated working-from-home area, complete with work pods, and shared desks.

“It means the third bedroom doesn’t have to become a part-time office and part-time bedroom,” Lois said, adding that residents have the benefit of working from home without actually being inside their apartment.

The rooftop wellness amenity was another standout compared to living in an established complex or a house. A signature feature of Sarazin developments, the rooftop will include a full gym, hot and cold plunge pools, a steam room and sauna, and a hotel-style pool with cabanas.

A Broadbeach Waters resident has amalgamated three apartments in Florian, the popular Surfers Paradise riverfront apartment development by Pacifico Investments.

Peter Kerr, who runs PLK DESIGN, has worked with Pacifico and architect Mode to create what will be a 450 sqm, full-floor penthouse with four bedrooms and four bathrooms.

Kerr's PLK DESIGN recently won the Yacht Interior design award for Best Salon at the International Design Et Al Yachting and Aviation awards, presented in June 2023 at the Cipriani in Venice, so the designer knew what to look for when searching for an apartment.&nbsp;

"As the director of my local interior design studio PLK DESIGN, I am looking forward to fully customising the apartment to exactly what I want," Kerr said.&nbsp;

While Plus Architecture designed the interiors of the luxury villas to speak harmoniously with the exterior architecture, landscape architecture firm LDG was responsible for designing the development’s exclusive residents-only garden retreat.

It features amazing amenities including a resort-style pool with submerged lounge chairs, an outdoor dining terrace, a lawn terrace, a covered barbecue area and a residents lounge, coupled with tropical palms, canopy shade trees, and lush, tropical-inspired plants.

Global design practice Plus Architecture were engaged to design the luxury $130 million Runaway Bay apartment tower, Belvue.

Their design inspiration came from the&nbsp;Belvue’s highly coveted waterfront location, set on the last east-facing high-rise opportunity in the Gold Coast suburb.

The tower design is fully orientated to take advantage of its waterfront location. Each of the 31 full floor apartments feature an atrium dining space, which Juric says will make residents feel they are dining right on the water's edge with the glowing city skyline as the backdrop.

"[The atrium will] transform a regular dining party into a cosmopolitan soiree," Juric said.

Each kitchen features a solid island bench carved from Taj Mahal stone, as well as a generously sized butler's pantry and integrated Gaggenau appliances.

There are three bedrooms in each apartment, as well as a multi-purpose room, three bathrooms, and two car spaces.

On offer at Belvue are three villas at the foot of the building, each featuring their own private courtyard.

"Inspired by the essence of coastal refinement" How Plus Architecture designed Belvue Runaway Bay

There were 22 designs penned by Plus Architecture when they were designing Bassar Group's second Broadbeach tower.

The result for Eternity, Plus Director Danny Juric says, is a "sophisticated, grounded building, with a strong, solid, yet delicate base."

The building's slender design, inspired by the interwoven elements that provide strength in nature, will rise 35-storeys at 14-18 Mary Avenue and home 88 apartments, just steps from the beach.

“One must appreciate what a unique landholding this is,” Juric says.

“While you are not on absolute beachfront, the oval in front creates conditions that give the sense that you are, while offering views that will never be built out.”

Centred around the concept of ‘reaching for the sky’, Juric said height was of critical importance when creating what has culminated in a slender, sculpted design, intended to be as aesthetically pleasing to those viewing it from the street as it is to those who will be living in it.

Surrounded by landscaping and tropical foliage, steel legs intertwine, almost like a basket weave, to form an exoskeleton that draws the eye up to the sky and invites people to form a connection with the building.

Bassar identified a gap in the market for spacious oceanside residences, with the three and four-bedroom apartments set to range in size from 189 sqm through to 214 sqm, while the half-floor four-bedroom skyhomes on the upper levels will boast an expansive 300 sqm of living space.&nbsp;

Two four-bedroom penthouse suites will crown the tower, delivering just under 600 sqm of space across two levels. They'll feature four-and-a-half bathrooms as well as three car spaces and a rooftop terrace complete with a plunge pool.&nbsp;

One thing buyers in Eternity can be assured of is that while the apartments offer different aspects, all of them are of equal standing, which Juric said was the one thing that was non-negotiable in the building’s design.

“There are no B-grade apartments in Eternity," Juric adds.

"They have been configured to be only three per floor, so one takes up all the north side of the building, one the south, and the one in the middle, which you would imagine would be the B-grade, is actually much wider than the others and has an enormous frontage.

“It could be considered the pick of the bunch, depending on what view you prefer.”

Plus took on a coastal colour scheme for the design of the apartments, which reflects the laidback luxury on offer at Eternity. Quality finishes including marble stone benchtops have been incorporated, along with engineered timber flooring, timber veneer cabinetry, 100 per cent wool carpet and Miele appliances.&nbsp;

A host of open-air amenities are set for Eternity, including a wellness centre, pool and wet deck, yoga lawn, gym, residents' lounge and barbecue facilities, which will be elevated above the ground level providing ocean vistas, framed by the foliage of pine trees.&nbsp;

Tropical landscaping and extensive perimeter planting will tie the tower into the sub-tropical lifestyle the Goldie is known for, creating an inviting arrival experience for anyone who enters Eternity.&nbsp;

“Landscaping plays an integral part of the building’s design,” Juric said.

“Imagine the feeling you get when you walk through a rainforest – it’s high oxygen and elevates the spirit, yet you are protected. That’s what we wanted to achieve on the amenity levels of Eternity.”

Bassars' Leo Sarris said they want people to feel a connection to nature the moment they enter Eternity.&nbsp;

“We want people to feel that connection to nature from the moment they step inside the grounds, from the comfort of their living spaces, and from their balconies facing the ocean,” he said.&nbsp;

“Even though Broadbeach is an inner-city suburb, you have this wonderful foreshore and the beach right there on the doorstep.”

The tower will offer four levels of basement parking, with 177 car spaces planned. There's also keyless FOB entry into the apartments, along with an intercom system, security cameras and an on-site caretaker.&nbsp;

Boasting a prime position along the coast will put residents near to everything Broadbeach and the greater Gold Coast community has to offer, with the Pacific Fair Shopping Centre located just 400 metres away, and a plethora of cafes and restaurants only 300 metres along Surf Parade.

The Masthead Ocean Club is set to redefine coastal living in Australia in a&nbsp;creative collaboration between industry leaders formed to deliver an exclusive lifestyle proposition, global in scale and ambition.

Designed by an internationally-renowned team, the Masthead Ocean Club is expected to appeal to the most discerning buyers, with a collection of only 28 whole floor apartments available. Rory O’Brien, one of the developers of the project, said the creative skills of BDA Architects harnessed with Banda Design London and Melbourne's Mim Design have produced a balance of quality, subtlety, and design excellence.

“The results are world-class and truly spectacular; it has to be seen to be believed,” O’Brien said.

Principal of Mim Design, Miriam (Mim) Fanning and Edo Mapelli Mozzi of UK-based Banda Design Studio, who both possess a longstanding working relationship with O’Brien, were invited to design Masthead’s luxury apartments and shared amenities, which includes the private residents ‘Ocean Club’.

Mim Design has planned each single-level apartment to maximise view corridors of sunrise views over the pacific and sunset views across the hinterland.

When asked about developing a signature language for Masthead’s apartments, design associate of Mim Design Stephen Tieppo said they were inspired by the nearby Southport Yacht Club and superyacht marina, evoking imagery of smooth, streamlined forms, billowing sails and seamless detailing.

“Each detail was carefully considered and customised, similar to the curated design of a luxury yacht,” Tieppo said.&nbsp;

BDA Architecture – who designed the tower’s exterior – have also referenced the luxury yachts dotted along Main Beach to create a one-of-a-kind building unrivalled on the Gold Coast.

A highly articulated facade of white concrete forms and subtly curved blade walls creates a linear expression, with a well-proportioned podium lifting the mass of the building from the ground plane.

Mim Design folded the architecture’s fluted wall panelling and honed crazy paving into the entry lobby, creating an internal courtyard of sorts contrasted by a striking, double-height wall of ocean-green marble.

Banda Design Studio, which are designing Masthead Ocean Club’s five sky residences, two sky homes and one super penthouse, have also ensured the design was relevant to its surroundings, with Head of Banda, Edo Mapelli Mozzi saying context is everything.&nbsp;

“It’s not just the culture of the Gold Coast but the uniqueness of the surroundings that had a huge influence on our design," Mozzi said.&nbsp;

“The East/West axis of the building gives views over the sea, city, hinterland and estuary – four very different topographies – so more than ever the design needed to be relevant to the surroundings.”

Banda designed the kitchen island with a bold, fluidly veined, green sequoia Verde marble that speaks as one with the hinterland and the sea views beyond, whilst the rest of the kitchen is very understated and pared back with travertine and plaster so as not to jostle for supremacy with the views.

The colour palette of the powder room is an unexpected addition to the design that pays homage to the red tones of central Australia. The vanity unit is clad in travertine rossa with a plaster tadelakt in deep burgundy.

“It’s fun and playful, and totally unexpected,” Mozzi added.&nbsp;

World class team combine to design $250m Masthead Ocean Club

Amalgamated Property Group has fast kicked off construction of its latest apartment development, Amaya, their $160 million tower in Broadbeach.

The project, which is a joint venture between APG and Base Developments is now on track for completion in late 2024. Gold Coast Builders GCB Constructions kicked off the earthworks in December, and started the foundation work in January.&nbsp;

A major construction milestone for the second 65-storey tourism tower at The Star Gold Coast has been ticked off, with the top of the 200 room 5-star hotel completed to level 21, which also includes a new luxury pool area and suite of residential amenity.&nbsp;

Joint venture partners The Star Entertainment Group’s Hong Kong-based partners, Chow Tai Fook Enterprises and <a href="/developers/far-east-consortium">Far East Consortium</a>,&nbsp;are delivering the hotel and apartment tower as part of the $2 billion masterplan, with project director Silas Croucher saying the concrete pour of level 21 represents completion of the first third of the tower structure.&nbsp;

“The top out of the hotel is a significant construction marker as the vertical build continues and we remain on track for an end of 2024 completion,” Croucher said.

“The ongoing rise of the 200 metre high tower will be noticeable now as we see the structure rising at approximately one level per week.

“The glass façade installation is also underway and quite visible on the skyline, so it’s exciting to see the new tower starting to take shape."

The internal fit-out of the hotel is also underway, while 475 new car park spaces will soon be opened for public use.

The new five-star hotel will sit above the six-level podium connecting directly to The Star Gold Coast's other resort offerings via a continuation of the ground level boardwalk, a level three retail promenade and the recreation deck.

All 437 of the one, two and three-bedroom residential apartments in the second tower have been sold and are unconditional.

The Star Gold Coast General Manager Hotel and Residences Mark Hodge said The Star is proud of its ongoing investment and job creation in the city and the new tourism amenities, including events and conferring spaces, it is bringing to the region.

The recently released $250 million Masthead Ocean Club on the Gold Coast's Main Beach has been developed to target the premium downsizer.

With locals making up the biggest share of the Gold Coast’s downsizer market in recent years, developers Banda and Rory O'Brien&nbsp;have sought to capture those wanting to live the Main Beach lifestyle.
