Stockpicker Mark East buys Currumbin holiday rental

Sometimes dubbed Australia's leading stock picker, Mark East has turned his investment attention to property. 

He's splashed out $2.73 million on the Gold Coast securing a newly refurbished three bedroom, three bathroom home at Currumbin following trips to the holiday hotspot. 

The near beachfront house was sold by Ray White Mermaid Beach agent Troy Dowker who advertised it as a holiday rental market prospect of $1,300 per week. 

It was in 2008 when the Bondi-based East co-founded Bennelong Australian Equity Partners which secured the best returns on the Australian equities market last year, returning around 34 percent.
