"Rockstar" banker to the stars lists Palm Beach weekender
The former UBS chief executive Matthew Grounds is selling his Palm Beach weekender.
Grounds, who has been dubbed as a rockstar banker for his dealings with the likes of James Packer, is asking between $7 million to $7.5 million for the home he bought nearly brand new for $4.3 million in 2005.
Built just a year earlier, the north-facing, ultra-contemporary Palm Beach Road home spans three levels and has two open plan living zones on the top two levels, both opening to entertaining terraces facing the beach.
The home on 1,010 sqm has four bedrooms and three bathrooms. LJ Hooker Palm Beach agent David Edwards has the listing.
Grounds, who is based in a Mosman mansion he bought for $14.05 million in 2012, was the chief executive of UBS until retiring in 2019.
He made a hefty loss on his former Mosman home. Having paid $11 million, Grounds sold the Phillip Corben-designed home for $9.4 million in 2016.
