Growing national developer Time &amp; Place has announced its fifth new apartment development.

With two projects in Manly and two upcoming in Surry Hills and Potts Point, the developer, which expanded beyond Melbourne just a few years ago, is now heading to Mosman. It is planning 53 new apartments on Redan Street.

The 3,233 sqm site, spanning <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/40-48-redan-street-mosman-nsw-2088">40–48 Redan Street</a> with frontage to Redan Lane, is located just under 400 metres from Spit Junction Town Centre. It is reported the developer paid around $100 million for the five-site amalgamation.

Time &amp; Place, founded by Tim Price and backed by James Packer’s private investment firm NPACT, has submitted the project as a State Significant Development through the NSW Government’s Housing Delivery Authority pathway.

Of the 53 apartments, 42 will be released to the market, with the remaining 11 allocated as affordable housing in line with NSW Government requirements.

fjc Studio has designed the building. In its Design Report, the architect said the diverse mix of dwelling types and sizes, including 11 two-bedroom affordable housing units, 40 three-bedroom apartments, and two four-bedroom residences, will support a broad demographic, including families, downsizers, and key workers.

The development will rise to nine levels, a height encouraged by the NSW Government due to the site’s proximity to Spit Junction, which has been identified as a low- to mid-rise centre. Developments within a certain proximity to these centres are permitted increased height.

fjc said the project “achieves an appropriate density outcome for its setting by balancing increased housing supply with strong amenity performance,” adding that it “makes a measurable contribution to NSW housing supply targets through the delivery of additional dwellings and dedicated affordable housing.”

The new development will replace five existing two-storey homes.

“By aligning with the objectives of the Housing SEPP and applying careful architectural and urban design principles, the development provides high-quality residential accommodation that integrates sensitively within its established Mosman context and delivers enduring benefits to residents and the wider community.”

Mosman has become increasingly popular with developers in recent years.

Developer Abadeen has been particularly active, with Mosman Residences currently on the market and under construction on Clifford Street. It also has an upcoming Burran Avenue project, comprising just three apartments on the Balmoral Slopes, and recently secured the Midas and Honeysuckle nursery site on Military Road.

Prosker Property has a project on Redan Lane, just a few doors down from Time &amp; Place’s proposed development.

Developers including Toohey Miller, DARE Property Group, and WINIM also have projects underway in the area. In 2024, a five-year target was set for the Mosman LGA to increase housing supply by 500 dwellings by 2029.

Time &amp; Place entered the Sydney market with Two Tides, its under construction Manly development. Given its sales success, it has secured another development in the area, more boutique, facing the beach on North Steyne.

They are hoping to launch their redevelopment of The Chimes in Potts Point this year, and next year will look to take to market Marlborough House, an adaptive re-use of the landmark David Jones warehouse in Surry Hills.

Katalin and Stephen Blond are the vendors of the ten-bedroom residence at 34-36 King Street.

Maytone, the historic grand manor in Queenscliff, has been listed for sale.
The property, which gives its name to the beach it faces, was <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-vic-queenscliff-127327330" target="_blank">built in the 1880s</a> and has had a long and rich history.
It was built for the staunch Victorian parliamentarian, Solicitor-General and Crown Prosecutor Travers Adamson.
The Victorian Government bought the property in the late 1890s. It was acquired by the military and became the home of the Fort Queenscliff Commandant, then later as the Fort's Officers' Mess.

The garages were a later addition to the property, built in 1939. During WWII they served as the Artillery Store for the two 4.7 inch guns known as the Crowns' Nest Battery.
Ownership was then passed to the Commonwealth, and in the mid 90's ownership became private and it was converted into a guest house.
It has six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, a music room, sitting room, and library. The balcony has Point Nepean views and a heritage chimney is retained. 
There's also a one bedroom cottage on the 1,025 sqm parcel.

Queenscliff's historic Maytone used in WWII for sale

A historic mansion that is currently run as a restaurant and bar in the Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula is on the market.
The <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-vic-queenscliff-126546886" target="_blank">34-38 King Street</a> property is one of Queenscliff’s iconic buildings and has a $5 million to $5.5 million price guide. 
It previously sold for $2.2 million in 2013, CoreLogic RP Data shows.
According to its description, in 1854, William Leigh, one of Queenscliff's first residents, planned to build the first considerably sized hotel in the region. 
Originally made of fine grade timbers, the first election for the newly established Borough of Queenscliff was held within its walls in 1863 before being destroyed by fire the following decade. The Royal Hotel as we know it today was rebuilt, this time even larger and grander, in the early 1880s.
The Royal Hotel was rechristened Hotel Q after owners Katalin and Stephen Blond went in for a “full-on restoration”, according to the Geelong Advertiser.

Currently used as a restaurant and bar, the ground floor offers a flexible floorplan with multiple zones that can be self-contained for either commercial or residential use. 
The beach house is suitable for various uses. It can be divided into two mansions with separate entrances, transformed into luxury seaside apartments, or used as a restaurant, bar or wedding venue subject to council approval. 
Zoned Residential One, there is the option of developing another building or apartments subject to council approval.

Queenscliff's iconic 'Hotel Q' up for sale

The landmark Queenscliff property, Lathamstowe has been listed with $6 million plus hopes for January 31 auction. 
The 44 Gellibrand Street offering is an 1883 Victorian Italianate heritage-registered masterpiece.
It was built as a gift from the former owner of Carlton United Breweries, Edward Latham to the Anglican Church for its clergy to use it as a retreat and resting place. 
The listing agent James Gladman, of Fletchers Queenscliff, said it was a historic and landmark property not only in Queenscliff but also in Victoria. It is offered <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-vic-queenscliff-124318218" target="_blank">in conjunction with Kay &amp; Burton</a>.  
During the ownership of Loucas Adams, the mansion has been used as a residence and a bed and breakfast on its 1640 sq m block.
There are impressions of approved renovation plans designed by Threowan Architecture, interiors by Hecker Guthrie and landscape design by Paul Bangay.
The house, built by Thomas William Dally as a duplex designed by William J. Ellis, retains original features including stained glass windows, pressed metal ceilings, marble fireplaces and a cast iron spiral stairway to the peak of its 23 metre tower. The original sheet-lead roof weighed more than 20 tonnes and is believed to be the first substantial flat roof built in Victoria. 
It was sold by the church at $600,000 in 1993 to the Riddell family.
It had been passed in at $570,000, against a reserve of $650,000.
Heritage Victoria says Lathamstowe and the former Baillieu House Hotel together presented an homogenous streetscape, their French Renaissance styled tower-roofs followed from the Grand Hotel (now altered) to create a skyline character within a compact area peculiar to Queenscliff.
"These buildings encapsulate the aspirations of Queenscliff as a Victorian seaside resort, and there is no other group in Victoria which closely approaches these."
