Apartment re-sales in the recently completed Opera Residences have shown price increases of between 20% to 30% since the project launched, according to CBRE.&nbsp;

All 104 Opera Residences sold off the plan within two hours of their 2016 launch, with $600m in sales recorded in a single day.&nbsp;

The level 19 penthouse sold for $26 million (or $96,000psm), and the buyer also purchased two three-bedroom apartments below, spending a total of $57 million.

Experts say Australia&rsquo;s growing ultra-high-net-worth population is driving the luxury end of the property market. The latest property forecasts show that luxury sales are 17% higher this quarter than the fourth quarter of 2020, compared to average national luxury home prices rising 2.9% in previous years.

Re-sales&nbsp;have increased by 20-30%&nbsp;since the project launched,&nbsp;CBRE&rsquo;s Tim Rees says, adding that they expect that trend to continue.

Rees attributes&nbsp;Opera&nbsp;Residence&rsquo;s success to its exceptional location opposite the Sydney Harbour Bridge and next to the&nbsp;Opera&nbsp;House, as well as its stunning architecture, interiors and panoramic vistas.

Residents set to move into Macrolink Landream's Opera Residences

An apartment in the soon-to-be completed Opera Residences at Sydney's Circular Quay has been listed for resale seeking $13.5 million.

The three bedroom, two bathroom apartment at 71 Macquarie Street is just one of three apartments on level 16, with the building topping out at level 19.

It spans 204 sqm, including its large entertaining balcony with 180 degree views of Sydney Harbour, the Opera House, Botanical Gardens and the city.

The delivery of the future Sydney landmark is slated for March 2021. To date, the building already features 1,140 facade panels, 30,000 square metres of formwork and 10,000 cubic metres of concrete, with internal fit-out well underway and final facade works due for completion in December this year. 

The $600 million development was designed by AIA Gold Medal award-winning Tzannes Architects, alongside leading practices <a href="/architects/crone-architects">Crone Architects</a> and Make Architects, and sold out in 2016 by CBRE in just two hours.
