AVJennings top out Merchant Apartments, Williamstown apartment development
ASX-listed community developer AVJennings has reached a significant milestone at its Williamstown community, Waterline Place.
They've topped out Merchant Apartments, their final apartment building in the 2.7-hectare masterplan. The seven-level building will be the last apartment building of its height in the City of Hobsons Bay.
Over 70 stakeholders including AVJennings CEO Phil Kearns and staff, principals from prominent architecture firm Elenberg Fraser who designed Merchant Apartments, town planners, and other key consultants and suppliers gathered atop the building to commemorate the achievement.
"The completion of the building is a significant milestone for the flagship community as it is the last apartment building in the precinct and the last of its height in the City of Hobsons Bay," AVJennings Chief Executive Officer Phil Kearns said.
"The Merchant apartment topping out is a proud moment for AVJennings and represents an important achievement in the delivery of the Waterline Place community.”
The Elenberg Fraser-designed building was designed to represent the site's industrial past. It has 127 apartments, with prices starting from $550,000.
Earlier this year two adjoining penthouses were sold to the same buyer for a combined $4 million plus, setting the Williamstown apartment record.
The buyer intends on amalgamating the apartments to create a 309 sqm spread with dual aspect views of both Hobsons Bay and the city.
AVJennings kicked off development at Waterline Place seven years ago. When complete, the Waterline Place community will home over 520 residences with a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments and executive style three-bedroom townhomes – all conveniently located close to cafes, local shopping, reserves, the beach and 12km from the Melbourne CBD.
