Brisbane City Council has approved Frasers Property Australia’s exclusive Newstead apartment project, which is connected to the James Street precinct via a tree-lined laneway.

Located on the corner of Chester and Morse Streets, Frasers Property will deliver 70 two-, three, and four-bedroom apartments across two striking 16-storey towers, complemented by three distinctive terrace homes, rising three storeys from the ground level. It will also feature a leafy public plaza, private  residents’ garden and ground-floor retail.

Frasers Property Development Director Jamisen Rivera said, “James Street has been a catalyst for Brisbane’s evolution as a culinary and retail destination, offering world-class experiences that celebrate and  exemplify the river city’s subtropical lifestyle.”

“The 3,016sqm site afforded an opportunity to create a truly integrated project that connects with its community and the James Street lifestyle precinct, while still providing residents a sense of sanctuary.”

Rivera says the third-floor wellness podium is designed to allow authentic community connections and define the project holistically placing wellbeing at its core.

“Our vision for these residences embeds green spaces and wellness amenities that genuinely elevate the experience of residents, and the design collaboration of Rothelowman and SubTropic certainly delivers on this by incorporating features our purchasers value within an inner-city context."

The wellness facilities includes a multi-functional yoga and stretching area, gym for cardio, meditation zones, and wellness garden terrace for low or high impact exercise, and an additional space with hot and cold plunge pools, a traditional Swedish sauna, rain showers and bench seats.

In addition to the suite of wellness facilities are rooftop retreats on both towers, with each featuring pools, landscaped terraces, BBQs and dining spaces. Clever floorplans maximise the site’s inner-city location, capturing 360-degree views to the Brisbane CBD, New Farm, North Brisbane and Hamilton Northshore.

Frasers Property has four active residential projects across Brisbane, including house and land packages at The Quarry in Keperra and Brookhaven, townhomes and apartments at Hamilton Reach and build to rent  apartments at Brunswick & Co. in Fortitude Valley.
