Queensland's besieged Quinlivan property spruiking family have had their Byron Bay NSW retreat sold by mortgagees for $2 million.

The property was a vacant hillside block above Wategos Beach, which cost $2.4 million in 2004.

In April 2010 the weatherboard house was totally destroyed by fire.

The property's registered owner was Joahannah Quinlivan, the wife of Dudley Quinlivan, who has been bankrupt three times and was once described in state parliament as the “king con” of Queensland’s property marketeering scandal.

He is currently banned from managing corporations for five years, with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission describing him as “not fit to be a director”.

The property's last asking price was $2.25 million through Tony Farrell at LJ Hooker Byron Bay. It's been for sale since its unsuccessful April 2011 auction.

Title Tattle gathers its been bought by the Ingham chicken family.
