Trevor O’Hoy, the former CEO of brewing giant Foster’s, has returned to the liquor industry by taking the non-executive chairmanship of the privatised pub landlord Redcape Property Fund.

O’Hoy quit Foster’s four years ago when the merger he oversaw with the Southcorp wine group turned problematic.

His 33-year stint in the liquor industry is expected to help the revitalised Redcape, which has undergone a $635 million recapitalisation.

Fairfax Media reported Goldman Sachs (Asia), York Capital and Varde Capital are overhauling the former trust into a pub owner and operator with an acquisitive trail expected through the imminent purchase of 20-plus hotels from collapsed hotel manager NLG.
