The average rental yield for Australian houses nationally was 4.3%, according to RP Data. Five capital cities - Sydney, Brisbane, Darwin, Canberra and Hobart - have rental yields above this average, Perth's rental yield is at this average, and Melbourne and Adelaide are below.
