There was something about moving into a completely new space that appealed to Gold Coast downsizer Lada Vugic.

Lada recently secured an apartment in Siera Property Group's under-construction <a href="/new-apartments/tapestry-chevron-island-39-darrambal-street-chevron-island">Tapestry</a> apartment development on <a href="/developments/chevron-island-qld-4217">Chevron Island</a>, where she will downsize come completion in late 2025.

Lada had initially looked at the established market to downsize, but the draw of living somewhere that hadn't ever been lived in before was too strong.

"It's almost like buying a used car versus buying a new car," Lada said.

"There's no better feeling than knowing what you own is new and hasn't been used by someone else. This will be my forever apartment, so I wanted to be the first owner, bringing my own energy to the space."

Lada researched and visited several other display suites across the Gold Coast, but she said she knew she'd found her new home when she visited Tapestry.

"Everything just felt right at Tapestry," Lada said.

"I was going in without really knowing what to ask, but the sales agent Brad was incredibly helpful, explaining to me the sizes of the apartments, the outlook, and most importantly, how the off the plan buying process works. After that, I felt more confident in buying off the plan, and I could picture what my new apartment at Tapestry would look like."

Lada bought a two-bedroom apartment, which the mother of two sons described as being "not too big, and not too small."

Beyond the practicality of the layout, the design aesthetic of Tapestry struck a chord as well.

“I loved the natural, light colours of the interior design. It felt fresh and modern.”

Lada says one of the biggest drawcards to Tapestry was the rooftop, which will feature an infinity pool with views over the Gold Coast, private dining areas, and a gym.

"The first thing I did when I bought was show all of my friends the rooftop," Lada says, adding that one&nbsp;of those friends has since gone on to purchase an apartment at Tapestry.

"We were born two days apart, so we're already planning our birthday party on the roof!"

After several years developing and building townhouses in Brisbane's inner-ring,&nbsp;<a href="/developers/siera">Siera Property Group</a>, led by UDIA Board Member Brent Thompson, made the move to the Gold Coast.
